The sound of a flute playing could be heard throughout the central square of Radiant Garden. There, a young boy named Lyricc was entertaining a growing group of people, who gathered around his lively tunes, as he danced around in the middle of the square.
He and his ”brother” Kasper had been taking odd jobs and, in Lyricc's case, had been performing on the street in order to make ends meet. Lyricc loathed the thought of having to steal to get by, like he had been forced to do early on in his life, but things were looking up for the two, and they had been able to gather just enough to get by for a prolonged period of time, so Lyricc was able to play his happy tunes without feeling bad...

Kasper groaned and cracked his back as he dried off his sweaty forehead with the muscle shirt he usually wore over his long sleeve. His aquamarine eyes scowered the town center for Lyricc. He saw the younger boy playing his flute with a few people around him. He smirked, he had just gathered up some munny for this month's rent. He walked over and sat down next to the brunette and cradled his arm acting as if it were hurt. "So I just finished cleaning for Miss Rose. She didn't want to have me do too much because of my arm but I managed to get some munny for food." He glanced up and saw a few people reaching for their wallets or purses. A few women shot him worried looks and he cringed, pulling his arm a bit closer. He knew how to work a crowd. Coins were dropped in the hat on the ground. They would have enough to eat for a while now. "When do you want to go home?"

As he finished his final piece and bowed to the crowd, Kasper came up to him and sat down. Packing away the flute, Lyricc listened to what he had to say, while thanking the people who placed munny in the his beanie, which he had placed on the ground.
After people had left, the munny had been counted and the beanie had been placed back on his head, Kasper asked when he wanted to go home. Lyricc shrugged. He was not really sure. It was such a bright day out, it seemed sad to waste it inside that crammy old apartment they shared.
”I dunno, I was thinking maybe we could do something fun for once,” the boy said, as he sat down next to Kasper, swaying from side to side in a restless manner.

Kasper hummed in thought. What was there fun to do around here? They could get ice cream and figure out what to do from there. "What do you have in mind? I'd like some ice cream." He glared when the brunette wouldn't sit still next to him. That was one thing that always drove him insane, he had debated taking him to get checked for ADHD but he didn't need a doctor's opinion to know that the kid probably did have it.
"We have some spare money, we just have to make sure to pay rent later."[/] He pulled out his bag of munny. I got some extra from cleaning today because the lady I cleaned for needed me to help her hang some pictures and move furniture."

”Ice cream sounds good!” Lyricc said with a whistle and jumped to his feet. ”And I know about the rent, but you gotta live a little sometimes, right?” Smiling at his brother, the boy started an awkward sort of dance on the spot. He really couldn't keep still. ”I heard there's a new place that opened recently. I'll show ya!”
Running off, the boy hardly waited for his brother before vanishing into the castle town, headed towards the market district. He knew Kasper would catch up, so it didn't bother him going off like he had done, and so, he kept on running...

"Oka-" Kasper sighed as Lyre took off before he could finish answering. He pulled himself up off the ground and grabbed his now dirty white shirt and tucked it in his back pocket so it was loosely hanging out like a tail. He slowly followed the brunette at his own pace, not exactly feeling like running after him. It didn't take too long to catch up to him as he had longer legs, usually one step for him was two for the younger teen. "So where's this new place that opened?" He asked as he grabbed the brunette's arm to slow him down.

Suddenly, Lyrric was caught in his tracks, as Kasper caught up and took hold of his arm, asking where this new ice cream shop was. Lyricc simply pointed over at what had once been an abandoned shop, but had now been shined up and made into an ice cream parlor. ”It's right there. It's called Heart's Desires! And man, it sure is my desire right now!” he chuckled.
Walking up to the shop the boy looked at the sign outside that listed all the premade ice creams, though he knew there was also the option of getting something specially made and mixed. ”I'm not sure what to have though. What're you gonna get?”

He chuckled at the boy's comment about desires. "Definitely a good desire." He let go of the younger teen's arm and continued their trek toward the shop. "I don't know what I'll get yet. Coffee and Mint Chip sound pretty good together." He used to love getting the two ice creams mixed together in a milk shake. It was like a minty frozen coffee. "Let's go in and see what they offer." He held the door open for the younger. "Go ahead and get whatever you want, we have enough." It felt great to be able to say that. They were finally getting their lives straightened out.

”Sounds just like you,” Lyricc chuckled as they went inside. It was a rather large shop for something that only sold desserts, and there was so much to take in. Amazed, the boy walked around the store like – well, a kid in a candy store.
”Hello dears, what would you like?” the woman behind the counter asked. Lyricc jumped at her words, having not even realized someone stood there. ”Oh, oh well, I'm just looking for now? Is there anything you could recommend?”
”Hmm,” the woman hummed as she held her chin in thought, studying the boy. ”You look like someone with a sweet tooth. How about...” she walked over to another counter with glass on the front, showing the different kinds of flavors. ”What about a strawberry sorbet?”
”That sounds great. Can I get chocolate sauce on top?” he asked. The woman chuckled with a nod. ”I'll be sure to add some extra,” she said with a wink.

Kas withheld a chuckle at the younger teen's awestruck look. Perhaps one of them could try getting an actual job here if not both of them. He actually chuckled when he saw him visibly jump at the woman's voice. She seemed nice. He looked over the flavors and stepped up to the counter. "Could I get a coffee and mint chip milkshake?" He smirked when the woman winked at Lyre. "Glad I don't have a thing for you." He mumbled to the younger teen. "Looks like I'd have some competition." He knew Lyricc would be oblivious to the woman's wink if he hadn't mentioned anything.

”Sweet!” the boy exclaimed, as the woman began fixing up his ice cream, as well as Kasper's milkshake. When Kasper mentioned the competition thing and hinted at the wink, Lyricc just prodded him with an elbow and said: ”Nah, you'll always be my guy!” he said and chuckled, taking his ice cream from the woman, who chuckled as well.
Walking back outside, the boy sat on a chair that belonged to the ice cream shop and scooped out a big chunk of ice, before gulping it down. ”It really is an amazing day today, isn't it? The sun is shining, we got ice and money to spare. Life is brilliant.”

He chuckled at the younger boy. "Glad to know I'll be stuck with you forever." He said casually as he took the milkshake and thanked the woman who gave him a polite smile. He followed the brunette out and sat down.
He glanced up at the sky and nodded. "It is nice out today. But don't jinx it." He knew they had horrible luck so he'd rather not have their good day ruined. "Where shall we go after this? I'd like to stop and pay the rent before we forget about it." He was a very worrisome person when it came to their apartment because he certainly did not want to end up back out on the streets.

Lyricc rolled his eyes. ”Then let's fix the damn rent and find out afterwards, all right?” he said, as he scooped up another spoonful of ice cream. ”Oh! Maybe we could go to the outer gardens and practice? I want to get my swashbuckling skills to a new level. Right now I'm not that useful for anything other than taking care of bruises.”
Chuckling at himself, the boy finished his ice cream and tossed it into a nearby garbage can, before jumping to his feet. ”Well, shall we?”

He chuckled. "Responsibilities young one." He sucked down some of his milkshake. He didn't mind going out to train. "At least there's something for you to be good at." He joked and continued to sip his milkshake, desperately hoping to not get a brain freeze. "What are you going to try learning to do next oh magical one?" Kasper himself never cared much for magic, he was a get in there and get stuff done type of guy.
When Lyricc stood up he did too and pushed in his chair. "We might as well get some refreshments on the way to the gardens once we're done with the rent. I'll work you hard." He smirked.

”Hey! I'm good at a load of things!” Lyricc said, pretending to be offended. However, he soon put on a smile and danced around as he walked, answering Kasper's question: ”Oh, Iunno. It's not like I have a damn spellbook like Geros had. I do think I remember something about a Reflect spell. Not very offensive, but probably hella handy.”
Continuing on, Kasper said something that made Lyricc laugh. ”I bet you will, but I'm telling you, I've done a bit o' practice on the side. I can take ya!” Boxing at the air, he obviously just tried sounding tough, and there was no truth behind his words...
