In the age of Fairy tales, while the worlds were still one, everything was bathed in light - a light thought to originate from the mysterious land of Kingdom Hearts. This land was protected by the X-blade, a mysterious and legendary weapon. At first, the world was at peace, as everyone lived in happiness within the light of the world, but soon, people began to try and steal the light...
In an effort to get their hands on the X-blade, which would grant them access to Kingdom Heart and its light, people began creating weapons fashioned in the likeness of the X-blade. These were the first Keyblades. However, there were those who wished to protect the light, and they too forged Keyblades in order to combat those who would claim ownership over the light.
In the end, the world was embroiled in war and darkness manifested within people's hearts. The Guardians of Light, the Seekers of Darkness, those who sought balance and those who sought only power all clashed, and the Keyblade War began...
